Met 2 grps of weird people today.
At the national library:An old man suddenly makes a big din over a teen who apparently coughed a few times without covering his mouth.
He jumped up to his feet angrily. Looking at the boy with a fierce glare he managed to tether him to the chair with invisible yet powerful tendrils. "THIS IS A LIBRARY. CAN YOU HAVE THE DECENCY TO COVER YOUR MOUTH WHEN YOU COUTH?" The words flowed out of his mouth like verbal diarrhoea, catching everyone's attention. The atmosphere was tense. Finally, the boy opened his mouth in retort, "What's your problem?" Realising that his attempt to strangle the boy with his fierce stare had failed, the old man screamed, "You are very rude boy. YOU WATCH YOUR MANNERS!" Silence followed as he stomped out of the library with a face that one would die to have.
Second incident at underpass near east coast:Xianjie and I were snapping away, trying to do a zoomburst of the lights in there. A couple came along and shouted.
"Why are you taking pictures of us ah?" A fierce and threatening tone echoed through the tunnel. We lifted our heads to see a burly youth with his chick, swaying from side to side. "We're taking pictures of the lights!" came our reply. They seem to be deaf, and thus, we repeated," Taking pics of lights!" The chick, apparently not debeaked yet and was feeling buaysong, as the hokkiens would put it, shouted," Don't need shout so loud!" Feeling irritated at getting pecked at by a stupid chick, I said,"You were the one who shouted first." The chick, being yougn and immature, screamed,"WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!" A childish respnse at that, we decided not to stoop to that pitiful level. Her boyfriend stared at us with an evil glare, yet backign off as we had the best of weapons. I was armed with a 1.5kg tripod and potentially blinding flash. Xianjie on the other hand, was armed with his tripod as well as a very old hardcore film camera. They backed off and we continued with our work. :)
TODAY:
Went for a swim. Yes indeed, I am not a devoted swimmer. Nevertheless, I went with much persuasion from my dad. After the 30lap swim I hopped over to meet xianjie at the national library. There, we spent an hour browsing thru photography books. Nice books they have in there! After all that, we went to ECP to take pics. Check out our flickr accounts! :)
